Heating and Cooling Degree Days

Description
Degree days represents the number of degrees the average daily temperature of a location is above or below a temperature threshold, in this case 65 degrees Fahrenheit. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) collects data from thousands of weather stations throughout the United States and U.S. territories and makes data publicly available in several formats. The data shown are 30 year averages from 1981 to 2010. We estimated CDD and HDD for all U.S. zip codes using the nearest neighbor circular distance calculation method for 7,501 NOAA weather stations.
